So while I was looking for a great example of domestic wind turbine use, I ran into a guy on the Internet who lived a couple hours away from me.  He had a rather unique rooftop wind turbine installation and was willing to show me what he did.

I drove over to his place and took a look.  I was under the impression that he had a used wind turbine but it turns out I was wrong.  He had built a small wind turbine and created a custom rooftop mount for it.  This household wind turbine looked pretty darn good, and the work he did was top notch.  He said it wasn’t all that hard and that he really enjoyed the process.

By placing the wind generator on the roof, he was able to get the wind turbine above the turbulence level and that really optimized the power generation potential of his wind power system.

I decided I was going to look into that myself.  I knew I wanted a domestic wind turbine and maybe a rooftop wind turbine was the answer I was looking for!
